A New Decade
On the eve of my 30th birthday, I spent a good portion of my day driving for work; I began to reflect on the 3 decades of my life, but more so the last decade. Your 20's, the time in your life where everything changes. For me I graduated from college, lived in 3 different apartments, bought a house, started a few new jobs and finally developed a career. With all of the ups, my 20's brought a whole lot of lows. Death, divorce, stress, cancer, heartbreak. You name it, it probably happened during the last decade of my life. I try to look back on the positives of the last 10 years of my life; I'm lucky enough to have a great group of friends who, no matter what, support me and my life. A family, who has been through a roller coaster of trauma over the years, but are trying our hardest to come back together, stronger. Three amazing careers which give me a crazy amount of passion for life.
But overall - I'm happy to be here. Healthy and well on my 30th birthday... 30. The number always terrified me because when I was younger I had this idea in my head that you were suppose to have so much accomplished by the time you turn 30. Little did I know, life has a plan of it's own. It'll work out how it's suppose to... whatever may be. I'm just hoping the year of 30's will be so much better than the 20's. Think it's off to a good start.
Cheers to whatever the 30's will bring!
