Adding Tomorrows for Cystic Fibrosis
Earlier this summer my wonderful cousin Pam nominated me to be considered as one of the Twin Cities Finest Young Professionals. The mail arrived and I found out I was chosen to be part of this incredible event... One of the Twin Cities Finest! Needless to say I was honored, shocked and a little terrified. With this nomination came the huge responsibility to raise $5,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, if you've ever raised money for a cause it can be a nerve wrecking challenge.
For anyone who knows me, I'm an extremely competitive person. When I do something, I put my whole heart into it and that's exactly how it has been with the fundraising for Cystic Fibrosis. This cause is especially important to me and my family, my (almost) 15 year old cousin has been living with Cystic Fibrosis for his entire life. If you looked at him, you would never guess he has been living with this disease that effects so many other people in the United States. Currently the life expectancy for someone with CF is 36, that's just (almost) 6 years older than myself... which puts it all in perspective. Can you imagine knowing that you may or may not live to see 37 because of a disease that is SO close to finding a cure?
What if you could make a difference and donate to help fund this CURE? Yes, a CURE! Researchers are so close to finding this cure, it's literally within reach. Every dollar we raise through the Twin Cities Finest Event (and many more CF events) is bringing us one step closer to finding a cure for my cousin Dylan and all the other young adults and kids living with this disease.
With less than 2 weeks until the Twin Cities Finest Awards, we are all so close to our group goal of raising $100,000. Please take a moment to watch the video above, see what it's like to be a kid living with CF and donate.
Every single dollar matters, whether it's $1 or $100, what you give matters. There are also tickets to the event if you'd like to come attend, party and celebrate 20 of the cities FINEST Young Professionals!
Thank you to everyone who has donated this far - there aren't enough words to express my gratitude to and for you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
